The program is designed to help organizations realize their fund-raising goals through the sale of unique and beautiful products. The program is designed to require minimum effort on the part of the participating membership.
The products feature paintings created in the Modern Batik Art Workshops. Batik is a 2,000-year-old textile art using dyes applied with a special process to fabrics such as cotton and silk. The Modern Batik Art Workshops are located in Toronto. Their purpose is to encourage young artists to express their creativity with batik.
Under the artistic direction of David Kibuuka, internationally renowned batik artist and co-creator of the Modern Batik Art techniques, these high school age students raise the art of batik to new heights.
The program was developed to assist large networks to achieve their established charitable funding goals. The concept is based on the theme, “Just one phone call.”
